At least 17 Palestinians were shot and injured with live fire, including one seriously, and others suffocated as Israeli forces attacked Palestinians who took part in the ‘Great March of Return’ protests along the barbed-wire fence between the Gaza Strip and Israel, said medical sources.

Israeli forces used live and rubber-coated steel bullets against Palestinians protesting peacefully at the Gaza-Israeli borders to the east of the Gaza Strip, shooting and injuring at least 17 people; one reported in critical condition.

A number others suffered from suffocation due to inhaling tear- gas fired by the forces.

They were all treated at the scene.
